For Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, music is a vital part of the experience.

It’s clear that Bucherie loves her job as well as her company. In particular, she’s proud that Kimpton strongly supports the LGBT community in a variety of ways, including Pride sponsorships, partnerships with artists, and various fundraising efforts for crisis-intervention organization The Trevor Project ( www.thetrevorproject.org)—such as serving Pride-season Absolut cocktails, and special hotel rates with pernight donations (when booked through Kimpton’s dedicated Trevor Project page: www.ihg.com/kimptonhotels/content/us/en/stay/special-offers/trevor-offer). The company also fundraises for No Kid Hungry (www.nokidhungry.org) and other non-profits through its Kimpton Cares program.

Bucherie, who’s been with her girlfriend seven years and counting, says one of her favorite duties is programming memorable queer-centric, inclusive events all year round, and even more so during Pride months. That includes special drag shows, DJ nights, live performances, and destination-specific events, like Washington D.C.’s annual “Pride and Shine” fundraising brunch at Urbana inside the Hotel Palomar (2121 P St. Tel: 202-448-1800. www.hotelpalomar-dc.com).

She also curated a unique Pride playlist for Kimpton’s Spotify channel (open.spotify.com/user/kimptonhotels), where guests can tune into Bucherie’s custom-curated mixes heard in the hotels, organized by season, holidays, and other themes. “All during Pride we amp our color and flair in our public spaces,” says Bucherie. “I love that I work for a company that puts such a big focus on Pride, and how we can have fun with it throughout the year.”

Because no journey is quite complete without a dose of fun, a sense of pride, and a stream of creative inspiration.
