SUMMARY:Helsinki Pride 2025
DESCRIPTION:Today\, Helsinki Pride is Finland’s most visible cultural and human rights event and one of Helsinki’s largest summer events. However\, its roots dating back to the Liberation Days are still strongly visible. Protests still play an important role in the Pride parade alongside joyful celebrations. Despite the increased number of visitors\, the park party has also been held as a joint celebration open to everyone and free of charge. \nThe number of participants in the Helsinki Pride parade has grown dramatically: in 2017\, approximately 35\,000 people participated in the parade\, while the following year there were almost 100\,000 participants. Helsinki Pride Week now consists of events organized by over a hundred different actors. Youth Pride Week\, which has also become established as a separate entity\, brings together hundreds of young people for youth-led events every day of the week. \nAlongside employees and volunteers\, the event is made possible by a diverse group of supporters\, rainbow community members and allies\, organizations and businesses. \nThrough our year-round collaboration\, social and youth work\, events and training\, we support and promote the well-being and rights of LGBTQIA+ people – and change the world with pride!

DESCRIPTION:In an atmosphere that is festive\, militant and inclusive all at once\, the LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade\, or Paris Pride\, brings together thousands of people every year to defend equal rights\, celebrate identities and demand visibility for LGBTQIA+ communities\nOn Saturday 28 June 2025\, Paris will host a new edition of the Lesbian\, Gay\, Bi\, Trans\, Intersex\, Asexual and Queer Pride Parade – also known as Paris Pride or French Pride – organised by Inter-LGBT\, which this year celebrates 25 years of commitment. More than a parade\, it is a strong political act\, a moment of gathering to demand equal rights\, fight against discrimination and give a voice to gender and sexual minorities. The colourful procession will bring together associations\, unions\, collectives and citizens in solidarity in a festive atmosphere punctuated by floats\, committed slogans\, music and performances. This march is part of a militant tradition\, in the tradition of the Stonewall riots (1969)\, and punctuates a Pride Week full of events throughout the capital. It also echoes the International Day Against Homophobia\, Transphobia and Biphobia on 17 May\, reaffirming the urgency of defending fundamental rights. The finish line is at Place de la Nation\, where the Grand Podium will be set up for six hours of live music from 5pm to 11pm\, in front of 50\,000 spectators!

DESCRIPTION:Luxembourg Pride\n\n\nThe Luxembourg Pride was created in 1999 and will be celebrated for the 25nd time in 2024 and\, since 2010\, for the 14th time in a row in Esch-sur-Alzette\, the iron metropolis. The festival is organised by the non-profit organisation Rosa Lëtzebuerg\, a voluntary organisation which since its foundation in 1996 has been defending the rights of LGBT people living in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. \nLet’s go back to the beginning of the festival in 1999 when a few enthusiasts from the Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl decided to gather at the Place du Théâtre in Luxembourg City to raise awareness about homosexuality among the general public. Gradually the few information stands gave way to a larger event on the Place d’Armes. In 2009 the Gaymat passed the threshold of 1000 visitors. \nIn 2010 the organizers decided to change the concept of the Gaymat. However\, the fundamentally volunteer structure defines the entire association\, and thus also the CSD team. Fees or salaries are paid only for core tasks and in core areas necessary to maintain the association and ensure the CSD demonstration and the CSD finale. Thanks to the high level of volunteer commitment of those involved\, these salaries are often significantly below the usual market rates.

The committees advocate for a range of activities tailored to their target group and ensure greater visibility of the same. \nStichting Pride Amsterdam is a non-profit organisation that strives for the emancipation\, social\, societal and legal equality and acceptance of gays\, bisexuals and lesbians as well as those who do not want to or cannot conform to socially dominant gender roles (such as male women\, female men and queers) or in whom the gender one was born with does not match how one feels (such as transgender persons). To achieve that\, visibility of diversity is necessary. What you see can’t be ignored.

The CSD street festival on the Binnenalster is planned for August 1 to 3. The highlight of Pride Week is—of course—the CSD demonstration on August 2.
