Wichita Pride Festival 2025

June 27 - June 28

Wichita Pride Festival

About Wichita Pride

In Wichita, Pride celebrations began in the late ’80s. By 1999, however, original leadership had moved on with their lives and Wichita Pride went into hiatus until 2005.

In 2005, after the April passage of the Kansas constitutional ban on same sex marriage, the newly formed Equality Kansas worked with local activists to bring Pride back to Wichita. For the 2007 celebration, Equality Kansas spun Wichita Pride off into its own organization once more (although the two organizations remain closely linked).

From 2005 through 2011, Wichita Pride was traditionally held the last week of June, but was moved to the last week of September starting in 2012 due to ongoing concerns with heat-related weather issues.

For 2023, all events moved back to June occurred throughout the month.

For 2024, the board expanded the offerings and scheduled various events throughout the year.

2025 is Wichita Pride’s Emerald Anniversary.  With a theme of “There’s No Place Like Pride”, the 2025 listing of events will be sure to bigger than ever.
