Porto Pride is the oldest Pride event in northern Portugal, held since 2001, long before the first LGBTI+ Pride March in the city, which only took place in 2006 after the tragic death of Gisberta Salce Júnior.
In 2019, everything changed. Under the motto “Giving colour to Porto”, we stopped being a private party, with paid tickets, and transformed the event into a free, open-air celebration, open to everyone. The 2019 edition was an incredible success, with more than 10,000 people celebrating in Praça de D. João I. Since then, we have continued to grow, always with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusion.
