Since 2015, Bilbao has hosted Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO, the Basque LGBTI Pride event. This is a “city and territory” initiative to celebrate gender-affective diversity and citizen solidarity in support of the rights of LGBTI people around the world.

Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO is committed to making Bilbao and Bizkaia an international benchmark, primarily in the Atlantic region.

We are also committed to building a proud Bizkaia. We want to ensure that each municipality has its own programming, offering a variety of activities (plays, films, entertainment, etc.). But Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO is much more than the Pride of Bilbao-Bizkaia.

It is a platform that promotes the historical memory of the Basque LGBTI community, provides a reporting service for cases of assault and harassment, works with companies to create friendly work environments, and promotes an annual cultural and leisure program aimed at the LGBTI community.
